We boarded our chartered van and prepared for the long trek to our next stop. Rather than review the itinerary for myself, I’ve relied on the expertise of Roxana. She always knows. Today, we would drive to Pu Luong Nature Reserve. Let me tell you…these accommodations knocked my socks off!

Corell and I wished more than one night became reality, but dreams did not meet reality!

The hotel likely would be hard for disabled people to get around easily. The paths to each person’s hut had steep walks and bamboo bridges. I worried my sore muscles would render me incapable of reaching my destination!

We met with Le for a village walk. We crossed a newly constructed suspension bridge. Flooding had taken out the original one, so the people had to build a new one.

The rice fields overtook the mountainside and created a peaceful and stunningly beautiful landscape.

We watched how the fields were watered. The stream turned a wheel that had water collecting tubes. As the wheel moved, the water collected vessels changed angles and poured into the bamboo tracks. As simple as it was, the effectiveness astounded me!

The walk through the area proved a bit challenging on our bodies, but the simplicity of life and the beauty I saw made every ache worth it.

I have so many photos I need to include:

We eventually made it back to our home away from home. Corell and I looked over our balcony and found our friends already enjoying the pool. We knew we had to join in!

The day ended with some dinner and rest. Can you believe it was another good day?!?
